If you could help me with this I would greatly appreciate it. So, here is my problem; I have taken out my old PowerPC HDD and connected it to my Windows 10 (I also have the VM MacOS Catalina running in WMware Workstation. And, so I tried to boot my Pismo off the HDD but it wouldn`t boot, so I tried to set it manually in OF but it couldn`t open the drive. So, I hooked it onto my VM and opened disk utility to see if it could repair it, then I found out that somehow it is an MBR partition mapped HDD which is strange because I never had it in another machine and this has been in my PowerBook G3 Pismo ever since I bought it in 2002. Once, I fixed this issue I would have to move on flashing the Firmware on it back to 4.1.8 from 4.1.8f5 which is known to have boot device issues. And, that is why my DVD or HDD drives are not being recognized, so I would need to boot it from a USB drive which is also troubled but possible.

For some reason I’m not able to get past the password part.

I really need some help, Tuxera NTFS could not mount /dev/disk2s1 at /Volumes/Seagate Expansion Drive because the following problem occurred: Aligned I/O enabled. CBCIO enabled. WARNING: ReadFully - I/O error while reading from file (5: "Input/output error") WARNING: failed at: pread(3, 0x100500000, 102400, 288126140416); WARNING: bytesRead=0 ntfs_attr_pread_i: ntfs_pread failed: Input/output error Failed to read vcn 0x1: Input/output error Failed to mount '/dev/rdisk2s1': Input/output error NTFS is either inconsistent, or there is a hardware fault, or it's a SoftRAID/FakeRAID hardware. In the first case run chkdsk /f on Windows then reboot into Windows twice. The usage of the /f parameter is very important! If the device is a SoftRAID/FakeRAID then first activate it and mount a different device under the /dev/mapper/ directory, (e.g. /dev/mapper/nvidia_eahaabcc1). Please see the 'dmraid' documentation for more details.

Richard, if my drive is showing up as "Disk 6" do I use that code instead of the "Disk 2" ?

What about if you have an ExFAT instead of HFS?

Hi Richard, I have a Gdrive and one day it doesn't show up or mount on my imac. I tried what you introduced but terminal says, mount: /dev/disk2/Volumes/ext: invalid special file or file system. like this. I have my data on my Gdrive, and don't know how to restore this. Please help me. T_T

What about if it’s seen and it’s greyed out and will not mount but gives a fail error

For the first command "fsck_hfs -rc -d /dev/disk3s2" it returned "The volume could not be verified completely." for the second command it shows that the external ssd has been mounted properly as shown in Richard's video. However, the drive still does not show up on the Finder or in Disc Utilities.

Hey Richard, a little late to the party after the first step I get a GPT partitioning scheme is required? what does that mean exactly ? Also my PC will open the hard drive but my mac will not, it opens and then says loading on the mac. I would transfer everything but that will take months. any help?
